Holcomb Moves into Round of 16 at US Amateur

PINEHURST, NC – Former Crockett Bulldog and current Sam Houston Bearkat, Will Holcomb V has advanced to the Round of 16 in the US Amateur Golf Championship held at the Pinehurst Golf Course No. 2 in Pine Hurst, NC.
Holcomb qualified for the match play portion of the tournament by going four-over par during stroke play and finished in a tie for 44th.
The top 64 players moved on to match play where Holcomb defeated England’s Thomas Forster 2 up. In the round of 32, the Crockett native bested Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg on the 18th hole to win the match 1 up.
The win over Aberg moved Holcomb into the round of 16 where he was scheduled to face Pierceson Coody from Plano, Texas. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 pm Central Time and can be watched on FS1.
