Lois Hammons

Lois Hammons, age 81, of Belott, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Houston M. D. Anderson Hospital. Lois was born March 26, 1937 in Blytheville, Arkansas to parents, Johnny E. Gillen and Abbie Stallings Gillen. She retired from Walter Pyes in Houston as a Credit Manager after 38 years and was a member of the New Energy Church.

Lois is survived by her husband, James “Preacher” Hammons of Belott; daughters, Juanette Wallace and husband, Vern of Houston, Charlotte Miller and husband, Rod of Belott, Meda Hammons Ryan of Houston; sons, Butch Hammons of Houston, Terry James Hammons of Belott; grandchildren, James Arthur, II, David Wayne, Cameron Lee, Kevin Coleman, Patrick James; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce McGaha of Madisonville; numerous other loving relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Abbie Gillen; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Williford, Christopher Tims; and brother, W.T. Gillen.

Funeral service for Lois Hammons were held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Bro. Bob Lacey and Bro.
