Jonathan Sherrill Stilwell

Jonathan Sherrill Stilwell went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2018, in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He was 28 years old.

Jonathan was born into a Navy family on March 1, 1990, at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida, to Eric and Bobbie Stilwell. As a “Navy brat”, Jonathan moved around the country, and the world, with his parents and sister, Savannah Stilwell. Growing up, these travels took him and his family from Florida to Tyler, Texas, across the sea to Cascais, Portugal and back to the states to live in Rhode Island, Nebraska, Alabama, and Virginia.

Jonathan earned the rank of Eagle Scout and traveled to Russia as part of a Christian missionary team in 2006, he graduated high school in 2008, and joined the US Navy in 2012 as an Electricians Mate in the Navy’s nuclear program in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2016, he moved to Lovelady, Texas, with the family and, in January of 2017, joined his sister attending Texas A&M Corpus Christi to finish his electrical engineering degree.

We will miss his wise, informative and entertaining discussions on theology and politics shared with family, friends and several professors at college.

He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Stilwell, father, Eric Stilwell and sister, Savannah Stilwell. He is also survived by grandparents, Bob and Diane Chafin, Great Aunt Doris Ellis, Aunt Delia and Uncle Brent Stewart, Uncle Scott and Aunt Lucille Stilwell and Uncle Floyd Stilwell and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger and Frances Stilwell and great-grandparents, Roy and Louise Allen.

Visitation is at 9 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Lovelady, Texas on Thursday, May 17, 2018. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
