James W. Warfield

On March 23, 1951, God blessed the late R.L. and Minnie Rutine Fobbs Warfield with a bundle of joy who they proudly named James Arthur.

James grew up in the Wheeler Springs Community and Church.  At an early age, he was baptized in the Little Elkhart Creek under the leadership of Rev. J.C. Nickles.

He attended Wheeler Springs Elementary School (grades 1-6) under the guidance of Mrs. Lula Denby-Daily. Later attending Williams High and Ralph Bunche High Schools.

He married Annette Warren, and to this union one child, E’Maria Synquon Warfield, was born.  He later met his fiancée Patricia Wilson.

James’ passion was leather crafting. He made beautiful saddles, boots, purses/handbags, wallets and belts.

James is preceded in death by both parents, the late R. L and Minnie Warfield; three siblings Willie Lewis Warfield, Raye Katherine Edgley and Geneva Lipscomb Shepherd.

He leaves to cherish his memories, Patricia Wilson; a loving daughter E’Maria Synquon Warfield; three siblings Charlie “Frank” Warfield (Mary), Tyler, TX, Bobbie Benton, Crockett, TX, Bettye Glenn (Ricky) Houston, TX; three grandchildren Journey, Kamron and Marqes; a host of nieces, nephews, (great and great-great cousins), and special friends who will miss him dearly.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wheeler Springs Baptist Church, 635 County Road 2106 in Crockett, TX, 75835. Officiating was Elder Siegfried Benton, pastor of House of Deliverance Church in Temple Hills, MD. Burial followed at  Cemetery Halls Cemetery, Crockett TX under the direction of Walker & Walker Funeral Home of Grapeland.
