Lorene Joyce Trammell

Lorene Joyce Trammell, age 94, of Port Aransas, previously of Kennard, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Port Aransas.

Lorene was born July 14, 1923 in Bemis, Tennessee to parents, Welcome Ussery Scott and Ida Bell Crawford Scott. She worked for many years as a telephone switchboard operator and also worked at the Ratcliff State Park for over 20 years.   Lorene was a member of the Piney Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Tina Kemp and husband, Bob of Port Aransas; son, Steve Trammell and wife, Sherry of Cleveland; grandchildren, Melody Cherry and husband, Willie of Splendora, Sandy Neilsen and husband, Nigel of Katy, Stacey Swanson and husband, Wesley of Cleveland, Joshua Trammell of Cleveland, Shelley Stovall and husband, Jason of Cleveland, Joseph Kemp and wife, Becky of Georgetown, Ryan Kemp of Katy; nine great-grandchildren; numerous other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Fred Alton Trammell in 1982; sisters, Stevie Horton, Lorell McDevitt; brothers, Dalton Scott and Olean Scott.

Funeral services for Lorene Joyce Trammell were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel, Rev. Terry Gibson, officiating. Interment followed in the Jim English Cemetery. The family received friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Callaway-Allee Funeral Home.
