Ouita Skidmore Dailey O’Dell

Ouita Skidmore Dailey O’Dell, of Grapeland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 31st day of October, 2017 at the age of 94 at her residence. Ouita was born on the 8th day of September, 1923 in Grapeland, Texas to Arwine Skidmore and Cora Estell.  She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church in Grapeland.    

Mrs. O’Dell was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry H Dailey, Jr.; second husband, O. B. O’Dell; sister, Gwen Skidmore Walton.

Ouita O’Dell is survived by her daughters, Carman Richburg and husband Than of Grapeland, Texas, Ruth Ann Dailey of Grapeland, Texas, Carolyn Page of Arlington, Texas; sons, Henry Dailey of Arlington, Texas, Tommy Dailey of Sedona, Arizona, David O’Dell of Dallas, Texas; brother, John Skidmore of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, David Richburg, Jason Richburg, Brandon Richburg, Rustin Richburg, LynnAnn Bryant and seven great grandchildren.

Friends were cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 2nd day of November, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Grapeland.

Funeral services for Ouita O’Dell were conducted at four o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 3rd day of November, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Grapeland with Rev. Bill Denham, David Richburg, Jr., and Rev. Larry Bogan officiating.  Interment followed in Grapeland City Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were David Richburg, Jason Richburg, Brandon Richburg, Rustin Richburg, Dawson Richburg and Paul Bryant.  Honorary pallbearers were David Walton, Ralph Walton, Jr., Maurice Walton, Paul Walton, Balis Dailey, Jay Helm, John Gregory, Neil Sheridan and Bill Willis.
