Tigers Take Bark out of Bulldogs

LATEXO – The Latexo Tigers held the Little Centerville Bulldogs to single digits in the first half and only allowed the Bulldogs to reach the double digit mark in one quarter on Wednesday, Nov. 30, as the Tigers won the basketball game by a final score of 66-29.

The Tigers started out onlatexo-basketball-2 fire as they raced to an early 19-8 lead. Kase Miller led the way for the Tigers as he scored eight points in the opening quarter. Miller was joined in the scoring column by Carter Catoe with five, Sonny Townsend with four and Jack Woodford with two.

Little Centerville was led by Mike Ford with three points while Chase Blalock and Tailer Dias had two apiece. Andrew Brister made one of two from the line to close out the first quarter scoring for the Bulldogs.

Latexo very nearly pitched a shutout in the second quarter as they limited the Bulldogs to a single free throw from Blalock.

The Tigers, meanwhile, continued their torrid pace and torched the Bulldogs for 22 points. Jack Woodford led the charge as he knocked down three shots from behind the arc for nine points. Tristan Curless broke into the scoring column with seven and Townsend added six to his total to bring the halftime score to 41-9.

The Tigers slowed the pace somewhat as the third quarter got underway. Curless and Townsend both dropped in four for the Tigers while Cory Smith added two to make the score 51-17 after three.

After the break, the Bulldogs were finally able to push their point total over the double digit barrier as they scored eight behind five from Dias, two from Ford and one from Brister.

In the fourth quarter, Little Centerville managed to out-point their entire first half scoring total by three.  Dias and Case Cavness each hit a three pointer while Brister, Dylan Hance and Kyle Dodd all scored two latexo-basketballfor a 12 point fourth quarter.

Latexo kept up the pace to close out the game. Catoe dropped in two from behind the three point line, Woodford added four, Townsend netted three and Smith closed out the Latexo scoring with two as the Tigers won by a final of 66-29.

The Tigers were led in scoring by Sonny Townsend with 17 and Jack Woodford with 15 points. Tristan Curless and Carter Catoe both dropped in 11. Kase Miller went for eight and Cory Smith added four to round out the Latexo scoring.

The Bulldogs were led by Tailer Dias with 10 points and Mike Ford with five. Andrew Brister scored four, Chase Blalock, along with Case Cavness, had three apiece while both Dylan Hance and Kyle Dodd had two for Little Centerville.
