You’re Known By The Company You Keep
The political left is fond of painting the more conservative types in America as dumb, ignorant, hateful and sometimes slack jawed.
Walk around the halls of a university, especially around a professors’ lounge and it won’t take long to hear a strand of leftist ideology floating through the air like a cloud of sulfur. Parents spend a large sum of money so these teachers who by and large have never worked outside the halls of academia can indoctrinate their children.
In a professor’s narrow field of understanding, anyone who doesn’t share their ideas is ignorant and stupid. Sometimes these professors have adherents, working outside the academic institutions, which enjoy denigrating those they believe are the less erudite among us.
The latest example of this is from Newsweek’s Andrew Sullivan, who claimed President Barack Obama’s critics are dumbto be sure there is a cabal of conspirators out there claiming some wild things about Obama; but we don’t have to rely on the tinfoil hat crowd to poke holes in Obama and his political record.
Obama claims he is not a socialist, but his actions and the policies he advocates tell a different story. Mothers everywhere tell their children “You’re known by the company you keep.”
If that old saying is true, then Obama truly is a Marxist.
Dig up Thomas Jefferson and he would probably call Obama, the Democrats and a majority of the Republicans out there the embodiment of evil. They have gone against the natural order and God-ordained rights as spelled out in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution; the founding father would probably advocate a radical solution.
According to Andrew Sullivan, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison should be considered idiots because they would strongly oppose the plans and schemes of the communist sitting in the White House.
At least since the 1970s, the political left has worked to portray conservatives as less intelligent than their progressive counterparts. By and large, conservatives have done little to refute their assertions as they elected George W. Bush twice, nominated John McCain and Bob Dole and controlled both houses of Congresses for a considerable amount of time and did nothing to undo the liberal policies entrenched in this country’s myriad laws, rules and regulations.
To the outside observer it all looks like theater. Obama talked about hope and change, yet he carried on the same policies of Bush, he even got bolder about consolidating more power to the executive branch. It’s maddening to see the country sink into despotism.
Don’t think a Republican in office would change it, nobody but a devout Constitutionalist would fail to avail themselves of that kind of power, that’s why nothing really changes from one regime to another — it’s always just more of the same.
The plot never really changes; it’s just a new cast of characters every few years.
There are a lot of folks out there who need their heads examined; first, Mr. Sullivan for blindly following a leader like Obama; second, those who blindly follow a GOP candidate who does not promise to return the nation to it’s true Constitutional roots and end the welfare state; third, Ron Paul supporters who do not admit he has some shortcomings when it comes to having relations with Israel and for failing to admit there are people with a visceral hate for this nation no matter what it does in the world.
There are plenty of ignorant folks around, you can spot them when they continue to support the same system which has led the country to the precipice of collapse.
