LOU ELLA BUCKNER

Mrs. Lou Ella Buckner, age 91, of Kennard, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 in Houston. She was born Jan. 6, 1921 in Oak Grove, La. and was a resident of Kennard for the past 30 years. Mrs. Buckner was a housewife and a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband, Hollis Wayne Buckner of Kennard; daughters, Mignon English of Houston, Mignette Polk of Houston; granddaughters, Karen Rushing of Houston, Tammy Hall of Dickinson; grandson, Joe Spinks, Jr. of Humble; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, A. Lee McGrew of Monroe, La.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents, J. W. and Ella McGrew; three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Ella Buckner were held Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment followed in the New Energy Cemetery.
