LINDA SMITH LANE

Mrs. Linda Smith Lane, age 65, of Lovelady, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 in the Methodist Hospital in Houston. She was born Jan. 23, 1947 at the Crockett Clinic in Crockett, Texas and had lived in Lovelady most of her lifetime. Mrs. Lane had worked as a records clerk for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Lovelady.

Survivors include husband, Marion Lane of Lovelady; daughters, Lisa Allen and husband, Patrick of Lovelady, Janna Jacob and husband, Jim of Willis; grandchildren, Andrew Allen of Huntsville, Emily Allen of Denton, Aaron Holbrook of Willis, brothers and sisters, Melvin Smith and wife, Linda of Grapeland, Marthalene Doshier and husband, Jim of Huntsville, Allen Ray “Buddy” Smith and wife, Ellen of Pennington, Janet Henley and husband, Glen of Midway, Archie “Bugs” Smith and wife, Trisha of Groveton, Cindy Eastepp and husband, Donald of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Nan Boatright and husband, Ed of Kerrville, Joan Little of Lovelady, Cora Alford and husband, Don of Alvin, Doris Welch and husband, Tooter of Holly, Polly Tipton and husband, Johnny of Kennedale, Nellie Lane of Trinity; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents, Archie and Allene Smith.

Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Smith Lane were held Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lovelady with Rev. Scott Matthews, Rev. Mitchell Kleckley and Rev. Jared Burt officiating. Interment followed in the Flat Prairie Cemetery.
