Mrs. Geraldine Lewis, age 87, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in the Houston County Nursing Home. She was born June 5, 1924 in Corning, Iowa and was a resident of Crockett since 1974. She was a housewife and mother. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include children, Shirley Teeter of Kaufman, Betty Kay Hunt of Springfield, Missouri, John Lewis and wife, Kathy of Joplin, Missouri, Carl Lewis of Kaufman, Jacky Lewis and wife, Rhonda of Crockett, Helen Steele of Crockett, JoAnn Tucker and husband, Cliff of Cushing; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husband of 65 years, Woodrow M. Lewis, Sr.; parents, Wilton and Sylvia Miller; sons, Woodrow M. Lewis, Jr. and Frank Lewis; daughter, Dorothy Lewis; grandson, Marshall Tucker; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Lewis will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mr. John Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
