Deputies Arrest Man For Assault

HOUSTON COUNTY - County law enforcement officials arrested Jerred Wesley Reed last week for assault.

According to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call Jan. 28 near Houston County Lake’s Tejas Shores subdivision after a resident reported an alleged assault.

“When deputies arrived on scene the (alleged) assailant was taken into custody and later transported to the Houston County Jail,” a press release from the HCSO stated.

According to the press release, Reed was charged with assault/family violence and assault/injury to disabled person as well as obstruction/retaliation.

After meeting with a magistrate judge, bond for the three charges totaled $45,000.

“Reed has been released on bond,” the HCSO press release stated.
