Most are familiar with the idea of six degrees of separation.

For those who are not, it’s the idea that anybody should be able to get in touch with anybody in the world through six different people. Now, in this age of Facebook, researchers with Facebook and the University of Milan reported that now we are at 4.74 degrees of separation.

That’s just too close.

There are times when a sane person doesn’t want to be connected with anything or anybody in the world, but that may not hold true these days.

In Jeremiah 18, God sends the prophet to the house of a potter. As Jeremiah watches the potter form a pot, shaping it into something useful, God tells Jeremiah the nations are like clay in His mighty hands.
